After working for ADK, Dentsu CDC, and Dentsu Digital (as Executive Officer), Takashi Sakuma established Saku Inc. in 2021 with 策 (read saku, meaning “plan” or “strategy”) and 作 (read saku, meaning “produce” or “build”). The same year, he also joined Drill as Creative Director.
Takashi provides integrated direction from brand strategy planning through execution. His motto, “activate minds and emotions,” guides him. His strength lies in identifying the core essence of a brand, and he works to create ways for the brand to fully actualize that raison d’être.
His major works include the “Facial Expression Project” for Shiseido; the “inJelly for your Alma Mater” and “inJelly for Entrance Exams” for Morinaga’s inJelly drink; the “Nissin Official Pentathlon Characters” for Nissin Foods; the “Model House with Model Family” for REGARD; “Buy the World with BUYMA” and “A Kind Drone” for ENIGMO; “Make a date with your kids. VOXY” and “Always upbeat with Sienta” for Toyota; and “Forever and Ever. The Last 7 Days of Niidome Elementary School” for Maxell.
His numerous awards include the Galaxy Award Grand Prix, ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS Grand Prix, Dentsu Advertising Awards Grand Prix, PR Award Grand Prix Gold, Cannes Lions Silver, ADFEST Gold, Clio Awards Silver, and Spikes Asia Bronze.
Takashi is an adjunct lecturer of Visual Communication Design at Musashi Art University. He also teaches a copywriting course for Senden Kaigi, a pioneering educator in the marketing communications industry.
