Christmas Gift Promotion for Uniqlo Products.
Uniqlo products are purchased on a daily basis, and are not often perceived as special gifts. To change perceptions that Uniqlo products are gift-worthy, we developed 12 kinds of gift-wrapping techniques that can easily be done at home. We used online and other media to communicate this message.
Each wrapping style was unique, including wrapping that made gifts appear as snacks, characters, a traditional Japanese cat’s cradle, and origami. There were even wrapping styles that could be done while walking around your house. We created how-to video guides shot in a handcrafted style, which were released online and played on in-store monitors.
We launched the campaign by inviting influencers to an event. Afterwards, booths were placed in five stores in Sapporo, Ginza, Kichijoji, Umeda, and Kobe for a month where staff helped customers to wrap gifts in participatory events.
