Overview
A new interpretation of Onmyōji (a specialist in magic and divination) as living in both the Heian period and the present was depicted by Takao Osawa, who played the role of Abe no Seimei (a legendary figure in Japanese history and folklore). We produced the videos for this play performed at the Nissay Theatre from December 31, 2020, to January 6, 2021. Latest technologies including LED screens covering the entire stage, movable screens in the ceiling, and lasers and 3D sound were used to create a “hybrid entertainment” that modernizes traditional theater.
