Overview

A campaign for wedded couples to launch their photos and vows of love for each other—sworn with a platinum ring—into space aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket. The proof of 3222 couples’ love for each other was put onto a DVD named the “Platinum Promise” and placed on a Soyuz rocket that was launched from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan on April 7, 2007. That rocket docked with the International Space Station, and a “certification of launch” ceremony was held at Moscow’s mission control center. The rocket returned safely to earth on May 16, 2007. The “Platinum Promise” is kept on the International Space Station, and it continues to watch over couples’ love from the starry skies.
